Live Presentation
Run scripture detection and verse display during a live service — not video streaming to social platforms.
The Live view is your command center during a service. It shows the live transcript, detected scripture references, your display preview, and tools to present verses to your congregation.
RheoCast is Bible presentation software, not a streaming app. It does not send video to Facebook, YouTube, or other platforms. The Go Live toggle projects scripture to your configured output — use Display & Output to integrate with OBS, vMix, or ProPresenter if you stream online.
Live View Layout
The Live workspace is split into distinct panels:
| Panel | Location | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Live Transcript | Top-left (narrow column) | Rolling sermon transcript + Start / Stop button and audio waveform |
| Display Preview | Top-center (wide) | Mirror of your display theme + Go Live toggle |
| Related | Center column | Contextual verse suggestions (shows Paused when transcription is stopped) |
| Detections | Right column, top | Speech-detected scripture chips with Display and Schedule actions |
| Schedule | Right column, bottom | Queued verses to present in order |
| Search bar | Bottom-left | Manual lookup — Display button, Search help link |
| Translation tabs | Below search | Pinned translations (up to 8) + More ▾ to pin/unpin |
| Verse list | Bottom | Full chapter of the current reference — click a verse to display |
Two different “Live” labels: The red timer in the header means transcription is running. The Go Live switch on Display Preview (label changes to Live when ON) controls whether verses reach your external output.
Transcription vs Display Output
RheoCast separates transcription from displaying:
| Control | Location | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Start / Stop | Operator window, below live transcript | Starts and stops transcription and scripture detection |
| Go Live toggle | Display Preview panel | Sends the current verse to your configured output (projector, NDI, browser overlay) |
| Auto Display | Header (Live view only) | Automatically presents high-confidence detections (≥85%) when transcription is active |
Auto Display is on by default. It only sends verses to your external output when Go Live is also ON. With Go Live off, auto-presented verses still update the Display Preview.
Go Live does not mean "stream to social media." It means project the current scripture on the output you selected in Settings → Output.
Starting & Stopping Transcription
The Start button in the operator window begins transcription. It sits below the live transcript panel, next to the audio waveform.
- Open the Live tab (default view when the app launches).
- Click Start in the operator window (or press Space) to begin transcription.
- The header shows a red Live timer while transcription is active.
- Click Stop in the operator window (or press Space again) to end the session.
When you stop, the session is saved for Creator Studio.
Go Live (Display Output)
The Go Live toggle is on the Display Preview panel — not in the header.
- Configure your output first in Settings → Output (windowed, fullscreen, NDI, or browser overlay).
- When you're ready to show scripture to your congregation, turn Go Live ON.
- Verses you present (manually or via Auto Display) are sent to that output.
- Turn Go Live OFF to stop sending verses to the projector/stream while keeping transcription running.
If Go Live is off, you can still search, detect, and preview verses in the Display Preview panel — they just won't appear on the external output until you toggle Go Live on.
Tip: You cannot switch to Creator Studio while transcription is running. Click Stop first.
Live Transcript
The transcript panel shows Waiting for audio… until speech is detected. New words appear with a highlight effect on the latest line. Scroll up to review earlier text — click Latest to jump back to the bottom.
The transcript is the foundation for:
- Automatic scripture detection
- Session history in Creator Studio
- AI-generated summaries and notes after the service
Scripture Detections
When RheoCast recognizes a scripture reference in the sermon, it appears as a detection chip in the detections panel.
Each chip shows:
- Book, chapter, and verse
- Translation code and an AUTO badge (high-confidence detections ≥85%)
- The verse text in your active translation
- Display and Schedule buttons, plus an X to dismiss
Presenting a detection
- Click Display to send the verse to your output (or Display Preview if Go Live is off).
- Click Schedule to add it to the queue for later.
Auto Display
Auto Display in the header is on by default. When a detection has ≥85% confidence, RheoCast presents it automatically — reaching your projector only when Go Live is also ON.
Turn Auto Display off if you prefer to approve every verse manually.
Clearing detections
Dismiss individual chips with X, or click Clear all to reset the entire Detections panel.
What RheoCast Detects
RheoCast understands many ways pastors quote scripture:
| Spoken example | Detected as |
|---|---|
| "John 3:16" | John 3:16 |
| "John chapter three verse sixteen" | John 3:16 |
| "Romans eight twenty-eight" | Romans 8:28 |
| "Psalm twenty-three" | Psalm 23 (verse 1) |
| "Next verse" / "Go back" | Navigates relative to the last displayed or detected reference |
Detection happens continuously while transcription is active — often before the pastor finishes quoting the full reference.
Schedule Queue
The Schedule panel (right column, below Detections) lets you queue verses to present in order.
- From search: Press Tab on a result, or click + Schedule in the dropdown.
- From detections / related: Click Schedule on any chip.
- Verse ranges: References like
Romans 8:28-30display the first verse and queue the range as a group with a Next button.
Present queued items using the play icon on each entry, or Next for verse ranges. Click Clear all to empty the schedule.
Related Verses
While transcription is running, RheoCast may suggest Related verses based on sermon context. These appear in the center column between the main workspace and the Detections panel.
- Shows Paused when transcription is stopped
- Each card has Display, Schedule, and dismiss actions
- Display has a brief cooldown between clicks to prevent accidental double-presents
Related verses require a Pro, Ministry, or trial plan with available AI credits.
Translation Tabs
Switch between pinned Bible translations using the tabs below the search bar. Click More ▾ to pin or unpin translations (up to 8). The active translation applies to:
- Detection chip text
- Manual search results
- Display output
See Bible Translations.
Display Preview
The Display Preview panel mirrors your configured appearance theme. When no verse is active, it shows a RheoCast watermark. On first launch, Genesis 1:1 may appear as a default preview verse.
Clear the live output with Escape at any time (closes Settings first if open).
Transcription Modes
RheoCast manages transcription automatically — no manual switching required.
| Situation | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Online (all platforms) | Cloud-powered transcription for highest accuracy and speed |
| Offline (Apple Silicon Mac) | Automatic on-device fallback when internet is unavailable |
| Offline (Intel Mac / Windows) | Transcription pauses until connectivity returns — all other features (manual search, free translations, display) still work |
View current status in Settings → Transcription.
History
Click the History icon (clock) in the header, or press ⌘/Ctrl + H, to open the History dialog. It lists verses you've displayed during the current session — click any entry to re-display it.
Past transcription sessions are available in Creator Studio (session sidebar), not in History.
When transcription is stopped, the header shows Stopped (or Starting while the engine initializes).
Best Practices for Live Services
- Rehearse once — Run a 5-minute test with the actual microphone and projector before service.
- Use a dedicated feed — Route only the pastor's mic, not the full room mix, for cleaner transcription.
- Keep Auto Display on or off intentionally — It defaults to ON; turn it off during your first services if you want manual control.
- Assign an operator — One person manages RheoCast while another handles slides or camera.
- Have manual search ready — If a reference isn't detected, type it in the search bar instantly.
